SUPPORT FOR RADIO AND TV PRODUCTIONS

The RIAS Berlin Commission has given a number of grants each year for the support of media productions, both in Germany and in the United States, thus promoting mutual understanding through the media in each country.

At its 24th meeting on October 31, 2008 the RIAS Berlin Commission has decided to change its production support: In the future only exceptional and outstanding transatlantic features and documentaries will be supported. With this change the RIAS Berlin Commission is reacting to the worldwide financial crisis of 2008 and to the resulting financial limitations.

The RIAS Berlin Commission will decide at its annual meeting, if a production support application, which has to be received at least 4 weeks prior to the meeting, fulfills the criteria of being exceptional and outstanding in the field of transatlantic relations promoting and deepening German-American friendship and understanding. A production support request should include a short project description with storyline, budget and production time-table, possible co-funding agencies and broadcast stations, interested in airing the production.
