Accessibility Statment - RIAS Berlin Commission
Accessibility statement
As of: October 2, 2026
Our goal
The RIAS Berlin Commission wants this website to be usable by everyone, regardless of ability and of the technology they use. The benchmark is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
What we do
- The website can be operated fully with the keyboard, focus is visible, and the menu can be closed with the Escape key.
- Moving elements (the image slider, animations) follow the “reduce motion” setting of the device. The slider on the home page can be paused.
- Images carry alternative text, pages are structured by headings, and the language is marked on each page.
- Pages adapt to the screen width and stay readable at 320 pixels without scrolling sideways.
Known limitations
- Older articles were taken over from the previous website. Some images in them do not yet have a meaningful description, and linked documents (for example PDF files) are not always accessible.
- Videos from YouTube and content from other providers are outside our control.
- This website has not yet been tested by an independent body. We test it ourselves and keep improving it.
