RIAS Media Prize Winners 2020-2022 — links to honored stories

The RIAS Media Prize Ceremony will be held in Berlin in early June for the first time since in 2019. The Covid-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the annual awards ceremony in 2020 and 2021. Nevertheless, an independent jury of journalists continued to pick winners in the television, radio and digital categories for German-American journalism. A total of 17 winners from all three years 2020, 2021 and 2022 will be honored at the ceremony.

Here is the first in the series of winners that RIAS will be posting here on the www.darkseagreen-dog-940501.hostingersite.com website. The 2019 report for several TV networks in Texas was done by Monica Quintero and David Wagner during their RIAS Berlin Commission fellowship, including interviews with far-right leaders such as Beatrix von Storch from the AfD party, Syrian refugee Faris Zakri, Deutsche Welle correspondent Frank Hoffmann, and New York Times correspondent Melissa Eddy. Their story won the “Best Fellow Award” in 2020.
